Apron was inspired by the, often sheer, kitchen aprons that were worn by women in the 1950’s. They were designed and used for domestic, mundane tasks but, inadvertently showcased the female body. Copying a traditional chain maille pattern, I created steel hog rings and used found zinc chain, metallic organza, and chiffon to make the apron. A set of four coasters was made of the same material with clear acetate coverings made from copied found images.
