Vehicle, an autobiographical work that included objects, text,and a video, drew inspiration from living on the road with my family in the late 1970’s. I fashioned a grouping of found objects into wearable survival mechanisms whose centerpiece was a clear plexiglass briefcase. Finding place in the displacement of that time was the impetus behind adorning my body with this personal iconography and walking in urban and rural places such as those I had seen.
